Corn Dolly Making Workshop
This Autumn we are delighted to offer a Corn Dolly Making Workshop at Rowsley Village Hall, led by Lu Towle, a third-generation straw worker. The art of making Corn Dollies is an ancient and endangered heritage craft, deeply rooted in rural life. Harvest tokens and trophies were traditionally made from the last sheaf of wheat to hold and protect the 'spirit of the harvest' through the winter.
In this full-day workshop you will learn a variety of traditional corn dolly designs and techniques, creating beautiful keepsakes of the season to take home and treasure.
This event is suitable for everyone over the age of 18. No experience is needed and all tuition, materials and equipment will be provided.
Sorry, tickets are non-refundable.
